It’s curtains for 2020. Finally, after nearly a year of virtual unpredictability, volatility and bated breath, we say goodbye to a year none of us will soon forget. In many ways, 2020 brought unprecedented change at every level of operation, shaking the foundations we once knew as steadfast, reminding us how quickly best laid plans and intentions can become curtailed.
On one hand, in the digital marketing world, 2020 presented great opportunity for many advertiser verticals, propelling them to hit peaks they never imagined would come under such unpredictable and often tumultuous circumstances. On the other hand, there were extreme challenges for other advertiser verticals whose propulsion was halted seemingly all at once.
Yet as the cliché goes, it’s true that when one door closes, another opens and for all of these verticals, we know there is light on the horizon. While often harsh, 2020 taught marketers many invaluable lessons in the importance of leveraging the right data, agility, adaptability, and good old- fashioned perseverance in the face of adversity.
